Oh my what a crazy weekend. We left Calgary Saturday morning for Edmonton. In Edmonton we met up with my parents and my sister and her family. Julian was playing hockey at Rexall place (the same place that the NHL teams play. I found out that Hayden loves to cheer as much as I do and he yelled, GO JULIAN, while clapping and waving his arms. It was great top see him support his cousin. After Julians game we had pizza with the team then went to the Oil kings game (WHL) Hayden got tired about 1/2 way through, but he powered through!
Got to the Hotel room about 10:30, ordered pizza then fell asleep with full tummies at midnight. In the morning we all went swimming together (well not me, I forgot to pack my suit, but I watched) The kids had a fabulous time and didn't want to leave the pool.
After hugs for everyone, we left for home. Sunday October 28, 2012 the Calgary Alberta Temple was dedicated. I didn't think I was going to be able to go because we couldn't find a sitter, at the last min my friend Angela Francechi offered even though her hubby was quite sick.
Some very interesting things happened. Dedication times were 10am, 1pm and 4pm. We went to the 4pm session. First of all I thought that the dedication at 10am would be taped and that was hat we'd be watching at 4pm, but I was wrong. There were 3 dedications. Different speakers each time, and President Monson was the person to say the dedicatory prayer at the first and second sessions, and Elder __________ was the one to say the prayer for the last session. They also had President Monson and some others cement in the cornerstone.
I am so grateful to be able to watch the dedication and I can't wait to start attending our new Beautiful Temple of the Lord! I'm so thankful for my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints. I'm so thankful for the gospel in my life and the perspective that it gives me. I'm so very thankful for a loving husband who loves the Lord and his gospel as much as I do!! I'm so richly blessed and my heart is full!! I pray that one day my older children (Angie, Dylan, Courtney) will also feel as I do about the gospel!
