I am thankfull for......

Thanksgiving weekend we went out to St.Paul.  We had so much fun with family. We got to see Kevin and Natalie's new home.  The drywall was up, and it will be a gorgeous home.  It looks nothing like my mom and Dad's old farm, but I guess change is good.

My sister took us out to her place and Courtney got to ride a donkey, Hayden rode a miniature horse and Cade played push with the goat! Then the kids played on the trampoline, and with Uncle Rene's RC cars.  Hayden had a blast running after the cars.

Cade too the kids to the fishing pond.  Courtney threw rocks with Logan, while Cade taught Julian how to fish.  We all had a great time.

The weather was so nice we were able to eat outside.

At one point Logan and Hayden had a pop chugging contest!

We made caramel crab apples and carved pumpkins.  Hayden wanted nothing to do with the pumpkins saying "ticky" (sticky) when told to take out the seeds!

We even took some cool family pictures!  wow what a great weekend!

Saturday afternoon at the park.

We went downtown Calgary to enjoy a beautiful fall afternoon in September.  We had a great time, playing in the water by the river, trying out the park and strolling down the paths. I love to watch Cade and Hayden together.  He is such an amazing Dad, and Hayden adores him!  It is the way it should be.
Little children are a gift to us from Heaven above.  The other day Hayden and I were wrestling and he got a little rough.  When I said ouch that hurts mom, he came over said "sorry mommy"  reverently placed his hands on my head and said "I pray mom".  This simple act brought tears to my eyes!

First hair cut

August Hayden had his first hair cut!  Cade would be the one to take him in.  I reminded Cade to take the camera, he looked at me with a puzzled look and said "oh is this a big deal?"  YA!!!!

Hayden did a great job, he wasn't so sure about the whole thing, but sat very still anyway!  When he got home he was very proud of himself!

They brought home, pictures, a certificate and a tuff of hair!  As always Cade did a spectacular job even though he didn't understand why a haircut was such a big deal!

Moving pains

We have moved once again. I'll start at the beginning. Last February, after couples prayer Cade looked at me and said "oh oh" He told me he felt like we'd be moving. I had also felt that impression after a personal prayer a few days earlier. We didn't know when or where, this spring Cade received a job offer at Dynawinch industries. They build wireline trucks for the oilfield. Head office is in the South East corner of Calgary. It was a 45 min drive one way, as we discussed things we came to the realization that this was the move we needed to make. Even though we loved our house, neighborhood, ward, the temple was only 2 min away, school, the list goes on, we also felt strongly that the Lord wanted us to move. WE began our preparations, cleaning, sorting and de-cluttering the house, finding a new place to live, etc. It came down to the wire but we found a great house in a great neighbourhood and today was our first day in our new ward.
I'm so thankful for the gift of the spirit that can lead us on paths we may never go otherwise.

Trek

Courtney had the most amazing opportunity to participate in a Stake Trek. This is where the Youth of the church experience life as a Mormon pioneer. They had to dress the part and they pushed and pulled handcarts through the mountains for 3 days. Courtney was so excited to go. They experience a hailstorm while there. It wasn't all work though, they had plenty of time to enjoy the beauty around them, and to play with each other as well. I'm so thankful for those who put on this event.

Family on Vacation

In the summer of 2010 Tammy, Rene and the boys, Kevin, Natalie and their girls all came for a vacation to Calgary. They kept us so busy, we went to the Banff Gondolas, Calgary Zoo, Calaway Park, and a BBQ in the Canmore mountains where they camped. It was a fabulous time. It was so nice to have everyone out and to share their vacation together!
Auntie Tammy gave Hayden his first taste of ice cream. He was soooooo hyper afterward her almost crawled out of his skin!
We also celebrated Hayden's first Birthday and Alanna's Birthday as well.

Grade 9 Graduation

Courtney had so much fun getting ready for her grad. She was determined not to be like everyone else, so there was no fluffy dresses for her. She was decked out in a rented tux. She had her dad all over the cit looking for just the right look.
Here it is!
